Journeys for Companies
Over the years we have provided logistical support and ground handling for many agents. We have also worked closely with a diverse range of corporate professionals; whether embarking on geology fieldwork, on location for various TV and radio programmes, or those seeking personal training in an unusual and inspiring environment.
Geology fieldwork
The Sinai Margin of the Gulf of Suez Rift presents well exposed outcrops that provide an ideal training ground for geological interpretation. We have run numerous geological surveys and fieldtrips with Professor Ken McClay and his team from Royal Holloway, University of London. We have also supported a number of other specialist oil exploration companies undertaking geology fieldwork in this fascinating area.
Wind Sand & Stars can provide 4 wheel drive transport, experienced desert drivers, translators, food, hotel reservations where necessary and expert liaison with the Egyptian Government to ensure all desert permits are in order.
To help ensure groups embarking on remote fieldwork of this kind can operate safely, we can offer the following additional support and back-up:
- a safety leader / medic – with advanced wilderness first aid training;
- first aid kits - tailored as required eg personal kit / group kit / vehicle medical kit;
- communications equipment - to include satellite phones and walkie-talkies;
- GPS units;
- access to 24hr on-call facility and support with emergency response and incident management plan.
All of these Wind Sand & Stars are able to provide or coordinate and we can supply further details upon request.
Corporate Journeys
If your company is lacking the time and space to work on valuable skills then let Wind Sand & Stars take you as far away from the office as it is possible to be… into the desert and mountains of Sinai, Egypt. We work with semi nomadic Bedouin tribes whose simple traditional desert lives, filled with time, space and beauty, are in dramatic contrast to our own.
Media / Film Locations
We have worked with both television and radio to help bring a range of programmes to fruition. We have been privileged to work with some fantastic people who have inspired us and we know that in turn they have enjoyed the Sinai.
We have worked with Radio 4, Radio 2, BBC TV, Carlton and Sky, to name a few.
Some memorable moments have been riding camels with Mark Tully, and sharing thoughtful interludes with John McCarthy on his journey to retrace his steps across the Middle East.
We can organise logistical ground handling and permissions for filming of any sort, and if you are at all interested in this aspect of our work please contact the office.
